ORGANIC KAJAL MAKING AT HOME

Making organic kajal at home can be a rewarding and natural way to create a cosmetic product. 



Here’s a simple method to make your own organic kajal:


Ingredients:


1. Ghee (Clarified Butter) – 2 tablespoons

2. Almond Oil or Coconut Oil – 1 tablespoon

3. Beetroot Powder or Activated Charcoal – 1-2 teaspoons (for color)

4. A small amount of Amla Powder (Indian Gooseberry) – 1/2 teaspoon (optional, for added benefits)

5. A small metal bowl or a deep pan for preparation

6. A small, clean container for storing the kajal


Instructions:


1. Prepare Your Workspace:

   - Ensure your workspace and utensils are clean and dry to avoid contamination.


2. Heat the Ghee:

   - In a small metal bowl or deep pan, heat the ghee over a low flame. Be careful not to overheat it; just warm it enough so it’s easy to mix with other ingredients.


3. Add the Oil:

   - Add the almond oil or coconut oil to the warmed ghee. Mix well.


4. Add Colorants:

   - Gradually add the beetroot powder or activated charcoal to the mixture. Beetroot powder will give a reddish tint, while activated charcoal will give a black color. Adjust the quantity based on your color preference.


5. Add Amla Powder (Optional):

   - If you’re using amla powder, add it to the mixture. Amla powder is optional but can provide additional benefits for your eyes.


6. Stir and Heat:

   - Stir the mixture well to combine all the ingredients. Let it heat gently for a few minutes while stirring continuously. The mixture should become smooth and well-blended.


7. Cool and Store:

   - Once the mixture is well combined, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly. Transfer the warm kajal into a clean, airtight container.


8. Allow to Set:

   - Let the kajal cool completely and set before using it. This might take a few hours.


Tips:

- Patch Test: Before applying kajal to your eyes, do a patch test on your skin to ensure you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients.

- Hygiene: Always use clean utensils to avoid contamination.

- Storage: Store your kajal in a cool, dry place. It should last for several weeks if kept properly.
